I have lightened hair that I do myself at home on a regular basis, I've always used purple shampoo as I assumed it was the thing to use, until I tried Matrix Brass Off blue shampoo! It turned the yellower blonde parts of my hair white and the orangey bits much more cool looking in just the first use! I was shocked at how much of a difference this made to my hair as I only left it on for 3 minutes. It honestly looked like I had gone to the hairdresser for a cool toner.
I highly recommend to use gloves as it stained my nails for a day or so (I was silly and did not use gloves on the first try, assuming it would wash off like purple shampoo does!)
