Pillarbox Red is Manic Panic's signature true red hair dye. This “fire engine red” looks great on everyone and can leave brilliant red tones on virgin, unbleached hair! For best results, they recommend lightening hair to a light level 8 blonde before use.

How many 4oz containers of Manic Panic hair color should I buy?

Short Hair up to Bob Length: 1 jar/bottle for thin or thick hair.
Below the Shoulder up to Waist Length: 2 jars/bottles for thin hair and 2-3 for thick hair.
Tailbone or Longer: 3 or more jars for thin or thick hair.

Manic Panic’s semi-permanent hair color contains fortified herbal and protein complex, and features no animal by-products. Manic Panic Hair Color can be used to achieve vibrant colors on pre-lightened or light blonde hair.

Dark colors such as red, purple or green may be used to highlight naturally darker hair shades.

Manic Panic Hair Color should be used EXACTLY as supplied and described on the packaging. Do not add peroxide or other permanent hair colorants.

Manic Panic hair colorants may temporarily stain skin and permanently stain the fabric of clothes, towels and bedding etc. Do not use with alkaline based products as these will upset the pH balance needed for maximum absorption of color by the hair. Low pH or non-alcohol hair products are recommended.

Avoid contact with eyes and do not use Manic Panic Color for eyebrows or eyelashes. If contact with eyes occurs, rinse out with warm water and contact a doctor.

Please Note: Not for internal use, avoid ingestion. Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid Freezing. Keep out of the reach of small children. For the best results, please use on porous, bleached, tinted or naturally light blonde hair. When applied to darker untreated hair, results may vary depending on hair shade and texture.

I have had my hair colored many times professionally and at home . I have never come across such mess and chaos before ..... you can't run your hands through your hair without color residue transferring to your hands , can't hug ya kids without their faces turning pink from the simple touch, never-ending the absolut chaos it leaves behind on your bedding or in your bathroom . This is by far the worst red dye product I have ever used and wish I had looked at the reviews prior to purchasing. I bought 2 jars but will definitely be throwing the second one out and going back to crazy color brand .

I was so excited to use this product. But using it has been one of my biggest regrets! Nothing could have prepared me for exactly how bad the residue would be, after washing it out in the shower the whole shower was neon orange and pink from ceiling to floor, my skin was stained, from my head down to me feet which transferred and ruined me bedding and pillow. It doesn't wash off completely, but still rubs off on absolutely everything!!! It has been two weeks and I still cannot get rid of this horrific pink neon orange mess, I am now washing my hair every day to try and get rid of this shit. Not only has the fallout been so bad but it has damaged my hair badly. I absolutely hate this product and I am not normally the one to voice my opinion so strongly, but with almmost everything I touch in my house now being pink, I had to let people know that they need to stay as far away as possible from this product

i have used manic panic 3 timed before this without any issues. using it this time it stained my whole body and my shower.
I prefer the vampire red wish I purchased before...

Arrived very promptly , and absolutely love this product . Works best on pre-lightened hair I was a light blonde and applied this straight over , gave me a very intense vibrant red colour after the first application , but wanted it deeper so applied a second application . My hair felt great afterwards as the products very conditioning with lots of shine , but definitley best to use gloves while washing hair for Atleast a couple of weeks after initial application . Also a red shampoo to maintain and prevent colour fading inbetween use of the manic panic semi permanent .
